Locust Hill near Ivy, Virginia was the home of Lucy Meriwether Lewis Marks, Meriwether Lewis’s mother. Lewis arrived at Locust Hill on 13 December 1806 after crossing the Blue Ridge Mountains. He spent Christmas 1806 with his family before continuing to Washington to report to President Jefferson.
